Shortly after I found out that my boyfriend was a crossdresser, I was watching TV and ran across the movie Normal starring Tom Wilkinson and Jessica Lange. I had tears running down my face, and felt I truly understood what the characters were going through. Except for the minor fact that my boyfriend, now husband, wasn’t/isn’t interested in getting a sex change.

For others, it can be a small deal or even a positive outcome to what might have been an emotionally charged first conversation.
