Being Trans at Work

by Emma on January 30, 2012

I’m no slacker. I bet you thought I just wrote fancy stuff all the time for pay, didn’t you? The truth is, I also assemble air ducts. Yep, All 5 feet 5 inches and 140 pounds of me assembles air ducts on an assembly line right along with a bunch of foul mouthed alpha males. [...]

Have you been caught xdressing?

by Emma on January 22, 2012

Emma offers up some of her experience with getting caught crossdressing. Sooner or later the tracks you so carefully cover will turn up. I was like a hunter trying to hide some illegal game. I covered my tracks by purging, packing makeup removal wipes, underdressing only before I went out, never wearing any lady clothes [...]

Skirts

January 13, 2012

How well do you remember trying on your first skirt? Was it an exhilarating moment? One that sent your heart racing and heightened your senses so that you overreacted to every noise, as though that noise was prelude to the door opening and you getting caught? Did you care if you got caught? Is the [...]

Coming Out Series: Building Support

November 8, 2011

This post is the first in a series about coming out as LGBTQI. Look for more posts on this topic soon. Coming out was for me one of the most difficult things I had done up until that point. As a matter of fact, the idea was so scary to me that it prevented me [...]

Transition

May 17, 2011

The truth is that from the youngest age I can remember I’ve felt like I was sort of trapped in this male body – and as I’ve gotten older, and tried years of different coping mechanisms to try and make this gender incongruence go away, I’ve just found my gender identity still at odds with my body. And so that left me with one option, to face the question of transition head on. And so I have started that process.

Writing this blog, while exploring my own thoughts and feelings around cross-gender expression, has given me the opportunity to meet a lot of people and educate myself quite a bit on the topic. I regularly see comments to stories that are posted here, and receive emails from both crossdressers and their partners looking for answers [...]

Ten things you can do to feel more feminine

July 27, 2010

Over the last few years I’ve been exploring ways to express my feminine side, even though I have had to spend most of my time in ‘boy mode’. I’ve discovered there are a number of things that a transgender person can do to feel more feminine, without disrupting work or their social life (assuming one is in a situation where they must continue to present in ‘boy mode’). Here are some things I’ve learned along the way.

Funny about shoes

July 2, 2010

Recently my parents came up for a visit for a few days. They had been planning to take an Alaska cruise for years with some close friends of theirs and finally decided to make it happen. Before leaving, each of them wanted a new pair of shoes for formal night but couldn’t find any they liked in stores. So I dug into my closet and found them each a pair that they loved!

Struggling to lose weight and keep it off

April 19, 2010

Apart from the fact that obesity in the world is growing at an alarming pace, often I think people (like myself) have used food as a kind of treatment for their crossdresser/transgender issues (especially if one isn’t “out”). On one hand I have always wanted to be thin, but on the other hand I have the lifelong stress of my internal transgender feelings that drive me to self-medicate with food. It seems I’m not the only one.

Using Avodart to Reduce Testosterone

These days, transgender individuals have a wide variety of options available to them for treatment. A quick search on the internet reveals a whole bunch of people with a whole variety of experiences and treatments they’ve undergone. This is certainly true when it comes to pharmaceuticals that are available in transgender care. One of the developments that [...]
